Palace Theatre, Art Deco concert hall and theater in downtown Albany, United States
The Palace Theatre is an Art Deco concert hall and movie theater in downtown Albany. Red marble staircases, ornate decorative trim on the ceilings, and a Czech-made crystal chandelier define the interior of the building.
The hall opened in 1931 as a major movie theater and was the city's largest cinema at that time. It was designed by architect John Eberson and is now recognized as a historic landmark.
The theater serves as home to the Albany Symphony Orchestra and shapes the city's cultural life through regular concerts and performances. Audiences from across the region gather here to experience classical music and other shows.
The venue is located in the heart of downtown and is easy to reach. The building operates with a membership program that offers ticket purchase benefits and discounts at partner organizations.
Hungarian artists created original murals that still decorate the interior today. These artworks give the hall a distinctive character that visitors notice throughout their visit.
