Albany Center Gallery is a nonprofit art space in downtown Albany that displays works from artists across a wide region. The venue presents paintings, sculptures, photographs, digital art, and mixed media installations on its curated exhibition floors.
Leslie Urbach founded this nonprofit art center in 1977 to support local creative work. Since its opening, the gallery has presented thousands of artworks from Capital Region creators.
The space serves as a meeting point for regional artists, showcasing new works regularly from creators across the Capital Region. Through its annual shows like the Mohawk Hudson Regional Invitational, it connects local artists with wider audiences.
The gallery sits on Broadway in downtown Albany and opens Tuesday through Saturday from midday until early evening. Entry is free, and exhibitions rotate throughout the year, so visiting at different times reveals new works.
The center regularly collaborates with Amsterdam City on public art projects and outdoor installations. Each month it runs workshops for young people that cover different artistic techniques, including mural painting.
