Fairly Odd Coaster, Steel roller coaster in Nickelodeon Universe, Mall of America, Minnesota, US.
Fairly Odd Coaster is a steel roller coaster inside Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The cars spin freely on their own axis throughout the ride, combining rotation with a course of curves and hills.
The ride opened on March 15, 2004, under the name Timberland Twister, when the park was still operating as Camp Snoopy. When the park became Nickelodeon Universe, the coaster was renamed and rethemed to match its new setting.
The ride takes its name and look from the Nickelodeon animated series The Fairly OddParents, and riders can spot colorful characters and decorations from the show along the track. This theming makes it a recognizable stop for younger visitors who grew up watching the series.
There is a height requirement to ride, and smaller children may only board with a supervising adult. Checking the current requirements before your visit is a good idea, as they can occasionally change.
When it opened as Timberland Twister, it was the first spinning coaster model from manufacturer Gerstlauer to debut in a park anywhere in the world. This means the ride served as a prototype for a coaster type that later appeared in parks across many countries.
