The Powers family donated land for this church in 1875, leading to its construction at a cost of 1,827 dollars the following year.

The church maintains its non-denominational character through summer services and community gatherings, connecting residents with their local heritage every fourth Sunday.

Restoration initiatives, which began in 1976, continue to preserve the church's authentic elements, including functional kerosene lamps and the original 1876 clock.

Three hurricane chandeliers illuminate the sanctuary, while a wooden panel divides the central pews, distinguishing it from conventional church arrangements.
