Afterburner, Steel roller coaster at Fun Spot Amusement Park & Zoo, Angola, Indiana, US.
The Afterburner featured a steel launched loop design with a height of 56 feet, a 47-foot drop, and a track length of 635 feet reaching speeds of 45 mph.
Initially known as Zoomerang from 1977 to 1990 at Circus World, the coaster moved to Boardwalk and Baseball in Florida before settling at Fun Spot from 1991 to 2008.
The coaster held distinction as the only operating roller coaster with an inversion in Indiana until Steel Hawg opened at Indiana Beach in 2008.
Components of the dismantled Afterburner, including the train, launch sleds, and controls, found new purpose at Frontier City in Oklahoma for their Diamond Back coaster.
Arrow Development designed this prototype for their Launched Loop shuttle style coaster, incorporating an elevator system for disabled passenger access to the loading platform.
