Griswold Scout Reservation, Scout reservation in Gilmanton Ironworks, New Hampshire, United States.
Griswold Scout Reservation is a 3,500-acre (1,400 hectare) property with two main camps: Hidden Valley Scout Camp and Camp Bell, both situated among lakes and mountain peaks. These two facilities serve as the primary gathering places across the expansive grounds.
The Manchester Council purchased 38 acres along Guinea Pond shores in 1925 and established Camp Manning as the first scouting facility in the area. The property gradually expanded over the decades into the large reservation it is today.
The reservation partners with Easter Seals New Hampshire through Camp Sno-Mo, offering outdoor programs designed for campers with disabilities. These partnerships help people of all abilities experience nature and build community together.
Summer camp season runs from June through August and requires registration at the Administration building, while off-season visitors can park without advance notice. Plan ahead to confirm your visit timing to avoid conflicts with scheduled camp activities.
The property received recognition as Outstanding Community Tree Farmer of the Year in 2016 for its forest stewardship efforts. This award reflects decades of commitment to sustainable forestry practices across the entire grounds.
