The Cathedral of the Divine Shepherdess stands with two towers reaching 32 meters in height at the intersection of Marino, La Paz, and Arismendi Avenue.
Construction of the cathedral began in 1957 during the government of Marcos Perez Jimenez and continued for 25 years until completion in 1982.
The cathedral houses stained glass windows depicting images of shepherds, priests, nuns, and bishops who received recognition as saints throughout history.
The interior space measures 1,352 square meters, with dimensions of 52 meters in length and 26 meters in width, containing three naves and a presbytery.
The cathedral serves as the seat of the Apostolic Vicariate of Tucupita, established by Pope Pius XII on July 30, 1954.
