Loefling Zoo, Zoological park in Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela.
Loefling Zoo is an animal park in Ciudad Guayana with several sections for different regional species. The grounds hold caimans, monkeys, deer, capybaras, reptiles, and tortoises in enclosures designed to resemble their natural habitats.
The zoo took its name from Swedish botanist Pehr Löfling, who studied Venezuelan plants and animals during the 18th century. Löfling died near Ciudad Guayana and left detailed records of the region's natural life.
The place serves as a teaching center where visitors learn about regional animal life and ecology through direct observation. Schools and families use it regularly to understand the wildlife found across the Venezuelan Guiana.
The park sits southwest of Cachamay Park and is walkable from there. Visiting during cooler parts of the day works best since many animals are less active in the heat.
The grounds feature large forested areas with native trees like mahogany, samanes, and ceibas that shape the landscape. These wooded zones allow animals to live in settings that closely resemble their natural world.
