Bismarcksäule

The stone observation tower rises 13 meters above Pariner Berg with a square base of 5 meters and features a viewing platform at its summit.

The tower construction began in 1901 with a foundation stone ceremony on Otto von Bismarck's third death anniversary and was completed in September 1902.

The monument represents German architectural heritage through its design by Eduard Gildemeister, incorporating local fieldstones and traditional building methods of the early 1900s.

Visitors can access the observation deck throughout the year without entrance fees via a spiral staircase offering views toward Lübeck and the Baltic Sea.

During World War II, the tower served as an anti-aircraft position and later suffered damage from freed French prisoners from the Pariner Berg forced labor camp.
