Malling Vandtårn

Malling Vandtårn is a 12-meter-tall structure with a rounded form and an internal staircase that climbs to the water reservoir at its top. The tower once served as a working component of the village's water supply system and now sits within a private residential garden.

The tower was constructed in 1922 to serve roughly 150 local households and remained in operation until it was decommissioned in 1958. This marked the end of more than three decades during which it played a central role in the village's water infrastructure.

The tower has long served as a distinctive landmark for Malling residents, representing an important part of the village's daily infrastructure. It stands as a reminder of when such structures were central to how communities developed and organized their water systems.

The tower sits on private property and is not open to the public, though it remains visible from outside. Visitors can view and photograph it from the surrounding area as part of exploring the village's historical landmarks.

In the 1980s, the tower briefly belonged to a well-known television personality who used it as an unusual broadcasting location. This unexpected chapter brought regional attention to the quiet village and helped establish it as more than just a local landmark.
