Goodwood plant, Automotive manufacturing facility in Westhampnett, United Kingdom.
The Goodwood plant is an automotive manufacturing facility in Westhampnett, United Kingdom, where handcrafted luxury vehicles are assembled. The buildings sit within a gently rolling estate and combine modern production halls with expansive outdoor spaces.
The plant began production in the early 2000s after the marque passed to a new owner. The decision to build a dedicated facility outside the previous locations marked a fresh chapter for the vehicle manufacture.
Architect Nicholas Grimshaw integrated the facility into the natural environment through limestone cladding, cedar elements, and extensive landscaping with 400,000 plants.
The site sits in a rural setting near Chichester and is not open to the general public. Visits require advance booking and occur only on select occasions.
The site includes its own art collection displayed in public areas, featuring works by local artists. This integration of art into the work environment reflects the place's self-image as both workshop and studio.
