Inverquharity Castle, Medieval tower house in Kirriemuir, Scotland.

The rectangular stone tower stands four stories tall with thick walls and features an L-shaped layout near the River South Esk.

Alexander Ogilvie constructed the initial rectangular tower in 1440, which later became the center of conflict leading to the Battle of Arbroath.

The castle preserves its original 15th-century iron gate, known as a yett, representing medieval Scottish defensive architecture and construction techniques.

The castle underwent complete restoration in the 1960s and remains a private residence, accessible only for pre-arranged historical research visits.

The structure sits on a raised platform with a steep northeastern escarpment dropping 20 meters toward the river, creating natural defensive advantages.
