Brent Civic Centre, Municipal government center in Wembley, United Kingdom
Brent Civic Centre is a nine-story glass building in Wembley featuring a 30-meter-high atrium with a circular drum for government chambers. The structure houses a library, wedding suite, community hall, and office spaces for around 2,000 council employees.
The building opened in 2013 as a replacement for the original Brent Town Hall. The site previously held the Palace of Industry from the 1924 British Empire Exhibition.
The building uses color schemes inspired by spices that reflect the diverse communities living in Brent. This design choice speaks to the different cultures that shape everyday life in the area.
The building brings multiple services together in one location, making it convenient to access what you need in a single visit. Public transport connections in the area are well-developed.
The building was designed with environmental features such as solar shading and natural ventilation that reduce carbon emissions. These sustainable solutions are woven into the modern design in ways visitors can notice as they move through the spaces.
