Brent Town Hall, Grade II listed town hall in Wembley Park, United Kingdom.
Brent Town Hall is a T-shaped civic building in Wembley Park featuring a long facade along Forty Lane with a prominent central tower. It displays tall windows throughout and the borough coat of arms positioned above the entrance.
The Municipal Borough of Wembley commissioned this building between 1937 and 1940 to replace their earlier offices located on High Road. The newly completed structure became an early example of modernist civic architecture in the area.
The structure demonstrates English Modernism through its brick forms and tower, inspired by Dutch architect Willem Marinus Dudok's approach to civic design. This style became common for town halls built during the same period.
The building now houses the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill, a French international school that opened in 2015. Visitors should check in advance whether tours are available, as it functions as an active educational institution.
During World War II, the newly completed building was equipped with a specialized bomb-proof first-aid post designed for the local community. Few other structures in this part of London had such protected shelters built in.
