Lands of Borland, Country estate in East Ayrshire, Scotland.
The estate contains farm buildings, a walled garden, and gatepiers, situated between Aiket Castle and the town of Dunlop near the Glazert Water.
The Hamilton family controlled the estate from 1400, later transferring ownership through marriage to the Montgomeries, with a stone fireplace from 1677 marking this transition.
The property features remnants of a formal medicinal herb garden once maintained by monks from Kilwinning Abbey who operated a hospice for their community.
The main entrance to the estate passes through Sandy Ford lane, crossing the Glazert water near North Borland with access to agricultural facilities.
Archaeological excavations in 1939 revealed foundations of the original castle, which stood on elevated ground between Borland Smithy and Borland Mill.
