Nevskiy 82

Nevskiy 82 is a four-story stone building on Nevsky Prospect distinguished by its extended interior courtyard arrangement. The third-floor windows feature ornamental frames that contribute to the classical appearance of the facade.

Engineer Major E.F. Brun constructed the building in 1834 as a residential structure on a site previously occupied by wooden buildings. This construction marked the shift from temporary wooden structures to permanent stone architecture in this central location.

The building served as a center for artists and music lovers during the 1800s, with shop spaces devoted to musical instruments and sheet music on the ground floor. This function made it an important gathering point for the city's cultural community.

The building houses various services today, including a medical clinic, art gallery, and banking office across its floors. It makes a convenient stop for visitors who want to combine seeing the architecture with accessing services or browsing exhibitions.

During the 1890s, the building was home to a homeopathic pharmacy run by Olga Evgenievna Gabrilovich, Russia's first female pharmacist. This professional presence was noteworthy at a time when women rarely held such positions in the country.
