Abdülmecid Efendi Köşkü

Abdülmecid Efendi Köşkü, Ottoman pavilion in Üsküdar, Turkey.

Abdülmecid Efendi Köşkü is a three-story mansion in Üsküdar with a monumental entrance gate decorated with tile panels. An inscription in Kufic script adorns the garden wall, reflecting the historical importance of the structure.

The mansion was built in the early 20th century as a summer residence for Prince Abdülmecid Efendi in the Bağlarbaşı Grove of Kuzguncuk. Its construction date coincides with a period when Ottoman architectural traditions were evolving.

The interior displays artistic elements such as wall tiles and fountains that reflect the craftsmanship of the era. The artist Avni Lifij left behind notable wall paintings that remain visible today.

The building is located at Kuşbakışı Street 18 and is open Tuesday through Sunday; plan some time to explore both the garden and interiors. Admission is free, but parking is limited in this area, so public transportation is recommended.

The main hall features a large marble pool and the upper floors showcase stained glass windows with colored patterns. The building is now operated as a social facility by the Koç Group, making it both a historical monument and an active gathering space.
