Hollis Garden, Botanical garden in Lakeland, United States
Hollis Garden is a botanical garden in Lakeland featuring 1.2 acres (0.5 hectares) organized into 16 themed sections with plantings, water elements, and architectural features including a neoclassical gazebo and trellis area. The sections connect through pathways and offer varied landscapes and design styles.
The garden was founded in 2000 based on City Beautiful movement principles and a design by Charles Leavitt. Its creation was made possible by a substantial donation from the Hollis family.
Each section displays different plant collections that change through the seasons. The Sustenance Orchard area shows trees that connect to American history and heritage.
The garden is located at East Orange Street near the Frances Langford Promenade and opens daily for visitors to explore at their own pace. Well-maintained pathways make it easy to walk through all sections comfortably.
The Bowls and Runnels section features a sophisticated fountain system that channels water from the Rosette Fountain through structured waterways to Lake Mirror. This water feature demonstrates how design connects visual beauty with practical water flow.
