চট্টগ্রাম শিশু পার্ক, A children's park located in Chittagong
চট্টগ্রাম শিশু পার্ক is a former amusement and recreation park in the Kazir Dewri area of Chittagong, Bangladesh, that offered children rides and open play areas. The site covers around 3 acres and was originally owned by the Ministry of Defence before being handed over to the city corporation for management.
The land originally belonged to the Ministry of Defence and was handed to Chittagong City Corporation to manage in 1992. In 2008 the ministry reclaimed ownership, and by 2023 the park had been closed and cleared.
The park in Kazir Dewri was long a gathering spot for families in Chittagong. Today the land sits empty, and locals debate how the site might be brought back as a green space for the city.
The park is currently closed and the site is empty ground, so a visit is not possible at the moment. It is worth checking for updates on any redevelopment plans before making a trip to the area.
Although the park has stood empty since 2023, the Shaheed Zia Memorial Museum sits directly behind the site and remains open. Urban planners are calling for the land to be turned into a walkable green area, keeping the existing trees rather than building over them.
