Magdeburger Weg

Magdeburger Weg is a hiking trail in the Harz region that winds through varied terrain with natural paths and changing elevations. The route connects different areas of the landscape, offering diverse views as you walk through the countryside.

The trail developed as part of the hiking infrastructure in the Harz region over several decades. A shelter along the route was renovated in the 2010s to replace older structures from previous generations.

The path connects multiple natural landmarks, including the Huneberg diabase quarry at kilometer 15.5 and the traditional Polsterberger Hubhaus rest station.

The trail can be accessed from several starting points and has regular rest stops positioned along the way. Wear proper hiking shoes and bring enough water, as the terrain can be challenging in places.

At certain points, the route offers views of the Söse valley and a reservoir in the broader area. These vistas reveal how the landscape serves water storage purposes.
