Palace Cinema, Grade II listed movie theater in Malton, England.
Palace Cinema is a building with neoclassical design featuring Corinthian pilasters and built from stone. Inside are three screening rooms of varying sizes that fit within the historic structure.
The building was erected in 1846 as a corn exchange and converted to the Exchange Cinema in 1915. It took its present name, Palace Theatre, in 1934 before becoming a cinema.
The cinema shows current films, live theatre performances, opera broadcasts, and ballet screenings for the regional audience. This mix of programming shapes how visitors use the space, with both film fans and theatre lovers regularly gathering here.
The venue opens daily and offers parking nearby as well as online booking for tickets. Visitors should plan ahead since closing times vary depending on what is showing.
One of the three screening rooms was added in 2013 and holds only twelve seats, creating an intimate space within the historic building. This tiny room offers a different viewing experience compared to the larger halls.
