Newcastle University Students' Union
Newcastle University Students' Union, Students' union building in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
The Newcastle University Students' Union occupies a neo-Jacobean style building with architectural elements designed by Robert Burns Dick in 1924.
The building opened on October 22, 1925, by Lord Eustace Percy, following construction funded by Sir Cecil Cochrane as an anonymous donor.
The facility maintains Luther's student bar, multiple food outlets, and Venue nightclub that accommodates 1,400 people for student gatherings and events.
The union manages over 160 student societies, 65 sports clubs through its Athletic Union, and operates student media including The Courier newspaper.
Unlike other university unions in the United Kingdom, Newcastle University Students' Union maintains ownership of its operational building.
