Sky Pool, Suspended swimming pool at Embassy Gardens, London, United Kingdom
Sky Pool is a swimming facility made of clear acrylic that links two residential buildings at Embassy Gardens and sits 35 meters above ground. The structure measures 25 meters in length and allows views downward through the transparent floor to the street below.
The facility was manufactured in Colorado, shipped across the Atlantic to London, and opened to residents in May 2021. Construction followed years of planning and calculations to ensure safety for the suspended structure.
The name refers to its position suspended above street level and the visibility it creates from ground to water through the clear bottom. Residents often use the facility during late afternoon hours and enjoy views over nearby rooftops and the river.
Access is limited to club members and their guests because the facility belongs to a private residential complex. Visitors should note that the transparent construction may cause discomfort for some people.
The central section spans 14 meters through the air without visible support and allows swimmers to see pedestrians beneath the clear floor. The acrylic walls measure 20 centimeters (8 inches) in thickness and hold the entire volume of water.
