Shepherdess Walk mosaics, Mosaics in a park in the London Borough of Hackney, Great Britain

The Shepherdess Walk mosaics are a series of wall panels and pavement pieces created by the Hackney Mosaic Project, led by artist Tessa Hunkin, and installed in Shepherdess Walk Park in the London Borough of Hackney. They show animals, plants, seasonal scenes, and everyday life in the area, mixing ancient Roman mosaic traditions with modern Hackney details.

The project began in 2011 under the initiative of Tessa Hunkin, with support from Hackney Council, and was launched to mark the London 2012 Olympics. The mosaics were officially unveiled in October 2013, after more than two years of work, and won the Mosaic of the Year Award from the British Association of Modern Mosaic in 2014.

The mosaics are located inside Shepherdess Walk Park and are free to visit at any time. The nearest tube station is Angel, from which the park is an easy walk.

At the October 2013 unveiling celebration, participants carried two handmade sheep through the streets of Hackney before real sheep from Hackney City Farm joined the procession. A poet named Ken Edwards also read a specially written poem to mark the occasion.
