Twist Coaster Robin, Steel roller coaster in Yomiuriland, Japan
Twist Coaster Robin is a steel roller coaster at Yomiuriland amusement park in Japan, featuring a chain lift hill and two inversions along its course. Each train seats four riders arranged in two rows of two.
The coaster opened in March 2014 to mark the 50th anniversary of Yomiuriland. A collision between two trains on the first day of operation led to a temporary closure and a full safety review before it reopened.
Twist Coaster Robin was built by Sansei Technologies, a Japanese manufacturer focused on roller coaster design. The name Robin, referring to a small bird, fits the playful tone of the park around it.
The ride sits within a larger amusement park, so arriving early in the day generally helps avoid long waits. Weekdays tend to be quieter than weekends and holidays.
The coaster features a section where the track tilts to 93 degrees, going just past vertical. This means riders are briefly leaning backward at the top before the train drops.
