Moments Contained

Moments Contained is a four-meter-tall bronze sculpture standing in front of Rotterdam Central Station, depicting a contemporary young woman in casual clothing with her hands placed inside her trouser pockets. The work sits directly on the ground without a pedestal and is freely accessible every day.

The sculpture was first displayed at Art Basel in 2022 before being permanently installed at Rotterdam Central Station. Its official unveiling occurred on 2 June 2023, marking the beginning of its presence in this central public space.

The sculpture captures an everyday pose that reflects Rotterdam's diverse population, bringing together people from different parts of the world. This casual representation speaks to visitors from many backgrounds and connects to the vibrant community that shapes the city.

The work is easily reached directly in front of the station entrance and can be visited at any time since it occupies a public, freely accessible location. Early hours are preferable for viewing and photographing the figure without crowding.
