Högevallsbadet, Aquatic complex in Lund, Sweden
Högevallsbadet is a swimming center with multiple pools of different sizes and purposes. It contains a 50-meter training pool, a competition pool with a 10-meter diving platform, and two teaching pools for learners.
The current facility opened in 1980 to replace an older bath that closed during the 1970s due to structural steel damage. A major modernization took place between 2011 and 2013.
The name comes from Högevallsmeadow, a former bathing spot along the Lundaån river. Visitors today use the facility not just for swimming but also as a gathering place in the community.
The facility is located in Lund and is easily accessible by public transportation. The pools are arranged for different swimming abilities, making it suitable for beginners through experienced swimmers.
The water in this swimming center is fed by natural springs and maintains a pleasant temperature year-round. This makes it a rare example of a modern facility using a natural water system in the region.
