Transformers: The Ride 3D, amusment ride opened in 2012
This attraction sits in the Sci-Fi City zone and combines three-dimensional film technology with moving platforms that travel through multiple rooms. During the ride, vehicles glide in front of large screens showing robots fighting through urban landscapes and leaping between buildings.
Universal Studios Singapore opened this ride in December 2011 as the first installation of its kind worldwide. Technical rehearsals began several weeks before the public opening to test synchronization between film and movement.
Visitors must be at least 102 centimeters tall (40 inches) to board, with children between 102 and 122 centimeters (40 and 48 inches) requiring adult supervision. The ride takes place in enclosed spaces where rapid movements and bright light effects may occur.
The moving platforms travel along a track spanning roughly 610 meters (2,000 feet) and shift sideways, upward and downward while coordinating with the projected images. The three-dimensional scenes were created by the same special effects company that worked on the theatrical films.
