Universal Studios Singapore, Amusement park in Sentosa, Singapore
Universal Studios Singapore comprises six themed zones in Sentosa with attractions like roller coasters, water rides, and stage productions. Each zone draws from films or fictional locations and adds its own rides, dining options, and shops.
Construction began in April 2007 as part of the Resorts World Sentosa project. The opening took place in January 2011 and made the park the first Universal Studios in Southeast Asia.
The Far Far Away zone features characters from the Shrek films in recreated sets like Duloc Castle. Visitors encounter multilingual performers in costume and experience show elements with familiar dialogue from the productions.
The entrance sits along Waterfront Promenade within Sentosa and can be reached by monorail, footpath, or cable car. An express option reduces wait times at popular rides but should be booked in advance.
The two Battlestar Galactica coasters launch nearly simultaneously and cross paths multiple times in the Sci-Fi City zone. One track offers seats while the other carries riders in a suspended position.
