Henderson Waves, Footbridge in Southern Ridges, Singapore
Henderson Waves is a pedestrian bridge in the Southern Ridges featuring an undulating wooden structure that rises above the surrounding greenery. The structure spans seven sections with wooden decks supported by a steel framework.
The project emerged from a design competition held by the Urban Redevelopment Authority in 2002 and was completed in 2008. The architects created a structure that connects walking trails within the Southern Ridges.
The bridge takes its name from the undulating shape of its design. Visitors use the curved alcoves throughout to stop and watch the landscape and city below.
You can reach the bridge from Mount Faber Park or Telok Blangah Hill Park, with clearly marked pathways leading to it. The LED lighting makes it especially visible at night if you visit after sunset.
The bridge rises approximately 36 meters above ground, making it one of the highest pedestrian routes in Singapore. This height allows for views that ground-level trails cannot offer.
