Adventure Cove And Sea Aquarium, Public aquarium in Sentosa, Singapore.
The aquarium covers ten zones with 49 tanks in total and houses around 100,000 marine animals from about 1,000 species in 45 million liters of water. Tanks range from shallow coastal landscapes to a large ocean section where sharks and manta rays swim.
The complex opened in November 2012 on an eight hectare site in Sentosa and was at the time one of the largest saltwater facilities in the region. The site was meant to draw new audiences to Sentosa and combine education with entertainment.
The tank near the entrance displays animals from regional coral reefs that once flourished along Singapore's coastline. Visitors can touch rays at shallow pools there and feel the rough texture of their skin.
The site opens daily at 10 in the morning and closes at 7 in the evening, except some Tuesdays and Wednesdays between July and November due to maintenance. A full visit takes about two and a half to three hours depending on how long you linger at each tank.
The large ocean tank holds 18 million liters of seawater and allows views through a wide panel of hammerhead sharks and eagle rays gliding through the blue water in groups. Divers clean the panel from inside daily while the animals swim around them.
