The three-story Neoclassical structure features Doric columns and decorative friezes depicting medical practices from Ancient Greece along its exterior walls.
The building, completed in 1926, served as the first medical school in British Malaya under the name King Edward VII College of Medicine.
The facade displays carved elements by Cavaliere Rudolfo Nolli, including a Roman eagle above the main entrance representing the civil status.
The Ministry of Health, Singapore Medical Council, and College of Family Physicians currently operate their offices within this restored building.
Local community leaders raised 80,000 Straits dollars in 1905 to establish this institution, with merchant Tan Jiak Kim making substantial contributions.
