Cascades de Purcaraccia, Natural waterfalls viewpoint in Quenza, France.

Cascades de Purcaraccia consists of a series of waterfalls flowing over granite rocks down a steep mountain valley, forming several natural pools at different heights. These pools are connected by natural water slides fed by mountain streams within the Bavella mountain range.

The waterfalls were created over thousands of years as the Purcaraccia stream carved through the Bavella granite massif via continuous erosion. The deep gorge and smooth rock surfaces that exist today are the result of this long geological process.

The waterfalls represent an important part of Corsican outdoor culture, drawing people to experience the raw power of glacial-fed waters during summer months.Locals and visitors alike have made this site central to how they connect with the island's mountain environment.

A visit to the waterfalls should be undertaken with a mountain guide due to slippery terrain and steep rock sections.Sturdy hiking boots and swimming attire are necessary since you will need to wade and climb through water along the route.

The site features a sequence of natural pools at different elevations, each offering distinct views of the surrounding Corsican mountains.
