Grande plage de Quiberon

La Grande Plage is a large sandy beach stretching along the southern coast of the Quiberon peninsula with fine sand and clear water. The shoreline extends for several hundred meters and offers views toward Belle-Ile island across the water.

This area became a popular seaside destination in the 19th century after the railway connected the town to Paris and made travel accessible to visitors. That connection transformed the beach from a quiet spot into a busy holiday destination.

The beachfront promenade links the harbor to the casino, showing how locals and visitors spend their leisure time here. Along the waterfront you will find small cafes and restaurants that reflect typical French coastal life.

The beach has monitored swimming areas and facilities like showers and restrooms that are easy to reach. Free parking is available at the nearby Place Hoche, and equipment is available for visitors with limited mobility.

Two beach clubs operate throughout the summer season independently of tide levels, offering equipment rentals and organizing water sports activities. This means visitors can enjoy activities at almost any time of day.
