La Sagesse Beach

La Sagesse Beach is a sandy shore curving along the coast with palm trees and views of the Caribbean Sea backed by green hills. The strand offers different areas suitable for swimming and relaxation throughout its length.

The beach was once gated off by Lord Brownlow, a relative of the British Queen, restricting public access. Local residents removed these barriers in 1975, reclaiming the shore for the community.

The restaurant here receives daily deliveries from local fishermen who bring their catch for traditional cooking. You can see how seafood is woven into the everyday life of the community.

The beach has parking and basic amenities available for day visitors. A restaurant on-site serves meals, making it convenient for spending a full day by the water.

A former military site was transformed into a nature reserve in 1987. The area now serves as a refuge where tropical birds and butterflies thrive in a protected setting.
