Sevastopol Defense Panorama Museum

The Sevastopol Defense Panorama Museum is a military museum in Sevastopol dedicated to the city's defense history. At its center stands a large circular painting approximately 115 meters long and 14 meters high, depicting the defense of the city during 1854-1855.

The building was constructed in the 19th century after the war events to preserve the defense story. During World War II, the structure was bombed and the large panoramic painting was damaged, but it was later extensively restored.

The museum displays objects and documents that show how people fought to defend their city during the conflict. The artifacts reveal the preparation and choices made by those who led the defense.

The museum is located along Istorychni Boulevard and can be accessed from there. From the observation platform, visitors can see the historic battlefield positions from various viewing angles.

The panoramic painting combines painted elements with real objects in the foreground, creating a three-dimensional effect. This blend places visitors in the feeling of standing within the battle itself.
