Aq-Yar Juma Jami Mosque in Sevastopol, Islamic religious site in central Sevastopol, Ukraine.

The Aq-Yar Juma Jami Mosque is located along Koulakova Street in the Lenin district of Sevastopol and features a 40-meter minaret that rises above surrounding buildings. The structure displays the typical architectural form of an early twentieth-century Islamic house of worship, with its tall tower serving as a visible landmark in the city.

Built between 1909 and 1914 by architect Alexander Weisen, this structure originally served both civilian and military Muslims in Sevastopol. During the Soviet period its minaret was demolished and the building repurposed for different uses until a complete restoration took place in 2000.

This mosque represents the presence of Crimean Tatar Muslim communities in Sevastopol who maintained their religious practices and social life in the city. Visitors can observe how the space serves as a gathering place for prayer and community activities today.

The mosque is easy to locate at the street intersection in the central city area. Visitors should remember this is an active house of worship, so removing shoes and wearing appropriate clothing are expected when entering.

The building was reconstructed with support from Turkey after being damaged during the Soviet period, reflecting the ongoing connection between Sevastopol and the Muslim world. This reconstruction allowed an important religious structure to reclaim its original purpose after decades of repurposing.
