Sushiro
Sushiro is a restaurant in Nishi-Gotanda that serves sushi on plates delivered via conveyor belts or brought directly by staff. The space has a bright, modern interior with ordering screens at each table and offers a wide selection of nigiri, sets, and side dishes including tempura and warm meals.
The location opened on May 29, 2017, as the second city-center style branch of the chain, following the first in Minami-Ikebukuro which launched in September 2016. These stores mark a shift in the chain's strategy to bring restaurants from suburban areas into central urban neighborhoods.
The name reflects its purpose as a casual sushi spot where people gather for quick meals. You will observe diners of all ages sitting together, sharing dishes and chatting, which shows how the restaurant fits into the neighborhood's daily rhythm.
Located in the basement of the Gotanda PLACE building about five minutes walk from Gotanda Station, the restaurant is open daily with long hours. Ordering happens through table screens and payment accepts credit cards and QR code systems, making the process fast and straightforward.
The restaurant uses a special conveyor belt system called the auto waiter that delivers orders faster than standard belts, along with a checkout machine that reads chips on plates to automatically calculate the bill. This setup removes the need for customers to count their plates themselves.
