Museu da Marioneta, Puppet museum in Estrela, Portugal
The Museu da Marioneta presents a comprehensive collection of puppets, marionettes, and theatrical artifacts within the historic Convent of Bernardas in Lisbon.
Founded in 1987 by the São Lourenço Puppet Company, the museum moved to its current location in the Convent of Bernardas in November 2001.
The museum exhibits Portuguese puppetry traditions alongside international pieces from Southeast Asia and Africa, demonstrating the global diversity of this performing art.
The museum offers guided tours, educational workshops, and special programs for children, with dedicated spaces for temporary exhibitions and interactive demonstrations.
