Musée des Eaux de Vie

The Musée des Eaux de Vie is a spirit production museum located in the Vosges mountains. It displays distillation equipment, traditional stills, and bottles of brandy, liqueur, whisky, gin, vodka, and tequila from various countries and regions.

The museum was established in 1986 within a former coaching inn dating to 1832. It preserves the regional heritage of spirit production in the Vosges.

The museum showcases how local farmers and producers have shaped spirit-making in the Alsace region through their ingredients and methods. Visitors can see the connection between the land and what is produced here.

The museum sits at approximately 450 meters in elevation and welcomes visitors daily with split morning and afternoon hours. Entry is free, and the experience includes tastings.

The museum houses an impressive collection of miniature bottles alongside vintage cellar equipment including specialized citrus peeling tools and antique bottle molds. These overlooked items reveal details about production techniques from past eras.
