Wild Olive
Wild Olive is an Italian restaurant on Johns Island that specializes in house-made pasta and seasonal dishes. The space has a simple, inviting interior with rustic charm and sources ingredients from local farms and waters.
The restaurant opened in 2009 on Johns Island, taking over the space of the former Live Oak Café, which was fully renovated. Under Chef Brad Grozis and General Manager Jason Parrish, it became a known spot for Italian food in the area.
Wild Olive's name reflects the Italian cuisine served here and the farm-to-table philosophy that guides its work. The restaurant strengthens the connection between diners and the local farming community through the ingredients it chooses.
The restaurant does not take reservations for large groups and can seat parties up to seven people. Takeaway orders are available by phone, with evening hours on weekdays and weekend service available.
The restaurant composts around 1,000 pounds (450 kg) of food scraps each week, turning waste back into soil. This commitment shows how seriously it takes the farm-to-table idea, closing the loop between the kitchen and the land.
