Skansen Taboru Kolejowego w Chabówce

The railway heritage park displays over 90 historical vehicles across multiple tracks, including steam locomotives, diesel engines, and passenger carriages from different periods. The collection is arranged across the grounds of a former locomotive depot, allowing visitors to explore the equipment from various angles.

Established in the mid-1980s on the grounds of a former locomotive depot, the park officially opened in 1994. The collection rescued important railway vehicles from scrapping and made them accessible to future generations.

The site takes its name from the nearby town and serves as a sanctuary where historic railway equipment was rescued from scrapping. Walking among the preserved locomotives and carriages, visitors experience what train travel and railway operations looked like in earlier times.

The park offers retro train rides to nearby destinations such as Kasina Wielka and Mszana Dolna, with options for private group rentals. Comfortable shoes are recommended since the grounds are extensive and require considerable walking.

Historic railway equipment from this collection appeared in several major films including Schindler's List and Katyn, serving as authentic backdrops for period scenes. This made the site a sought-after location for film productions requiring genuine historical detail.
