Church of the Holy Cross in Chabówka

The Church of the Holy Cross in Chabówka is a wooden structure built using traditional methods common to this region within Rabka-Zdrój municipality. The building features a timber frame with interior wooden elements and sits within a walled compound that defines the sacred grounds.

The wooden church was built in 1757 to replace an earlier chapel that stood on this site. In 1901, it underwent major restoration work when the original tower was transformed into a proper steeple.

Inside, the church shows flat ceilings and late Baroque altars created by craftsmen of that era. These artistic details reflect how people of the time expressed their faith through careful craftsmanship and decoration.
