Eataly, Italian restaurant in Florence, Italy
Eataly is a multi-floor food market and dining space in Florence, a short walk from the Duomo. The building brings together fresh produce, Italian specialty goods, and several places to sit and eat, all in one large space.
The concept was born in Turin in 2007, with the idea of bringing traditional Italian food under one roof for a wide public. The Florence location opened as part of the brand's later expansion across Italy and abroad.
The restaurant incorporates cooking classes and food tastings, teaching participants about regional Italian recipes, ingredients, and preparation methods.
The location is easy to reach on foot from the city center, close to the Duomo. It tends to get very busy at midday and on weekends, so going earlier in the day usually makes for a calmer visit.
The wine section carries over 600 Italian labels, with many bottles that are hard to find in standard shops. Alongside shopping and dining, cooking classes and tastings are held on site, making the visit more than just a meal or a grocery run.
