Renesansowy zamek Scharfeneck

Scharfeneck is a stone castle in the Sudeten region featuring Renaissance architectural elements that has been carefully restored to show its original character. The building displays decorative portals, arched windows, and towers that reflect the style of its 16th century origins.

The castle was founded in 1590 and served as a residence for wealthy families who shaped the development of Lower Silesia. After periods under different ownership and later Soviet administration, it underwent substantial restoration beginning in the 1990s.

The castle reflects a shared heritage of German and Polish cultures that shaped the region for centuries. Visitors can sense this layered history when moving through the rooms and attending local events held within the walls.

The castle sits about two hours by car from Wrocław and Prague, making it accessible for day trips or longer visits. There is a café serving regional food and guest rooms in the building, allowing visitors to extend their stay if they wish.

The castle grounds contain an English-style landscape park with rare tree species planted at this elevation where they would not naturally grow. Walking paths through the property offer views of the Sowie Mountains and reveal how the original owners invested in creating their ideal surroundings.
