Park Leśny, Urban recreational park in Lubin County, Poland.
Park Leśny is a large green space covering about 27 hectares in Lubin County, bordered by residential streets and developed areas. Within its grounds stand a rope course with multiple stations, underground bunkers, and preserved military structures from different historical periods.
The park developed from a military artillery range built in the 1930s, with some of the original earth embankments and stone structures still visible today. Soviet bunkers were later added to the site and remain as physical evidence of occupation during the 20th century.
The Soviet bunkers scattered throughout the park serve as physical reminders of occupation, with exhibitions inside that explain what life was like during that era. Visitors can step into these structures and feel how the land itself holds onto difficult histories.
The park is walkable throughout, with the rope course offering different difficulty levels for various fitness levels. The underground bunkers are accessible on foot, creating a natural route through the grounds that is best explored during dry weather.
A learning path called the 'Great War' trail connects preserved trenches and earthen fortifications with explanatory containers and restored wagons from that era. This combination of authentic military remains and teaching elements transforms the grounds into an outdoor classroom where history becomes tangible.
