SM Southmall, Shopping mall in Las Piñas, Philippines
SM Southmall is a large shopping and office center in Las Piñas with multiple floors and extensive retail space spread across different sections. It features numerous stores, restaurants, a cinema with eight theaters, an ice skating rink, and a game park offering bowling, billiards, and arcade entertainment.
The center opened in 1995 as the first SM mall in the southern part of Metro Manila. After a major renovation in 2010, new fashion stores and an IMAX cinema were added, though the IMAX theater closed in 2025 to make room for new features.
The name SM Southmall refers to SM Prime Holdings, the developer behind this center. It functions as a social gathering place where residents gather to shop, dine, and spend time together, reflecting the local habit of using shopping centers as meeting destinations.
The center is located along Alabang-Zapote Road and is easily accessible by car or public transportation. The spacious layout with multiple levels and clear sections allows for convenient navigation between shops, restaurants, and entertainment areas.
The center features Food Street, a dining area at the back with outdoor seating, plants, and a fountain that lights up at night. This section offers a more relaxed eating experience compared to the typical indoor dining found throughout the rest of the center.
