Hotel Victor
Hotel Victor is a lodging establishment with restaurant and bar facilities in Victor Harbor on the southern Australian coast. It features more than 30 guest rooms, a bar called V-Bar equipped with televisions for sports broadcasts, a bistro serving local and imported beverages, and a dining area with outdoor seating.
The building was originally constructed in 1863 as Victor Harbor House and served as lodging for port workers. In 1961 it was replaced with the current hotel structure, which has been regularly updated over the decades, most recently in 2022.
The hotel takes its name from Victor Harbor, the coastal town where it sits on the southern Australian shore. Today it functions as a gathering place where locals and visitors regularly meet to share meals, drinks, and conversation in a relaxed setting.
Guest rooms are located on the first floor and accessible by stairs or elevator, with comfortable beds, air conditioning, and private bathrooms included. Many rooms offer views of the water or the nearby island, enhancing the stay.
A historic horse-drawn tramway connecting Encounter Bay and Granite Island operates nearby and is a favorite attraction for visitors to the town. The hotel's proximity to this heritage feature makes it a convenient base for exploring this local specialty.
