Pussers Caribbean Grille
Pusser's Caribbean Grille is a waterfront restaurant in Annapolis located at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel with large windows and an outdoor deck overlooking boats on Ego Alley. The menu features Caribbean-inspired seafood dishes, appetizers like steamed mussels and crab dip, main courses including local rockfish and Maine lobster, and a rooftop bar area.
Pusser's opened on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands in 1982 and arrived in Annapolis in the mid-1990s, quickly becoming a gathering place for locals and visitors. Since then, the restaurant has hosted more than a thousand weddings and celebrations, becoming deeply rooted in the town's social life.
The name Pusser's comes from the purser on British Navy ships, the person who distributed rum to sailors from the 1600s onward. This maritime heritage shapes how the place feels today, with wooden tables and nautical touches that connect diners to sailing history and island traditions.
The restaurant opens early for breakfast and stays open through late-night dining, with seating both indoors and on outdoor decks overlooking the harbor. Outdoor spaces can be warmed with firepits and overhead heaters in cooler weather, making it comfortable to visit throughout the year.
Executive Chef Jim Eriksen has worked here since shortly after culinary school and refreshes the menu twice yearly with new recipes and daily specials. Several longtime staff members have shaped the experience for decades, creating a continuity of service and hospitality that regular guests recognize and value.
