Thompson Stadium, Football stadium at United States Naval Academy, Maryland
Thompson Stadium features a regulation quarter-mile running track surrounding the football field with a single seating section along the southwest sideline.
The stadium began operations in 1914 and received its name in 1931 from Robert Means Thompson, an alumnus who supported athletic programs at the academy.
The facility hosted Navy Midshipmen football games from 1924 to 1958, serving as a central venue for collegiate sports competitions and military ceremonies.
The stadium accommodates 12,000 spectators and maintains direct access to campus facilities within the United States Naval Academy grounds.
Before the construction of Thompson Stadium in 1914, the site consisted of unused land near Annapolis Harbor at the southern end of the campus.
